SECOND to Learn
![]()
Community colleges play an integral part in educating and developing students to succeed by providing them with the guidance and opportunity to learn, explore, and become responsible individuals ready to face real-world challenges. They also serve a larger purpose of instilling moral values in students – to give back to the community and help people in need.
In recognition of this effort to educate students both morally and intellectually, SECOND to Learn, a Vretta initiative, was established to provide college students with the opportunity to support needy children who cannot afford basic educational resources that they require to pursue their studies. For every course resource (textbook or online resources) that is sold to a college student, portions of the proceeds will be donated to support a school-child in need for educational resources such as bags, pencils, and books. In this way, when a student purchases a textbook, there is a second person who benefits and learns. In addition to their academic growth, students also learn a second set of values which includes a moral responsibility to serve the community and ensure advancement of people in the world.
